Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device. You can even run it once, disconnect from the internet, and run it again: it still works, because the processing code is already on your device.
Why PNG rather than JPG?
PNG is lossless, so text and line art stay crisp with no compression artefacts. JPG is smaller and better for photos — switch to it in the options if that suits your document.
What resolution are the images?
About 144 DPI — twice the on-screen size — which is sharp enough for slides, documents and the web.
